Good afternoon, Chics! We have been busy over the last few weeks with so many projects. I don't know about you, but this is my favorite time of year. It's full of hope and promise. Our chickens have decided it is springtime and are laying very well. We are consistently collecting between 28 and 37 chicken eggs per day! And the ducks are also on a roll with five eggs a day. One of our ducks is building a nest so she'll soon be in there sitting on eggs, and we'll have ducklings. I have the incubator going with 33 eggs that should hatch March 10-11. We will get the brooder going early next week for the chicks to live in until they go to their forever homes. Have I said that I love this time of year? On Saturday, I boiled 70 chicken eggs and 8 duck eggs. The duck eggs went into a pound cake. It was delicious. I devilled 20 eggs (there were four left this morning) and left the rest to deal with ...
